03.24.09 | Entrance & Exit Counseling
Did you know you must complete entrance and exit counseling if you want a Stafford loan?
Entrance counseling is required before you’re given your first loan disbursement, unless you’ve previously borrowed a Stafford loan. It is designed to provide you with useful tips and tools to help you develop a budget for managing your educational expenses and helps you to understand your loan responsibilities.
Exit counseling occurs before you leave school to make sure you understand your rights and responsibilities as a borrower. You will also receive information about your loan provider and when your first payment is due, which is usually 6 months after you graduate.
