I had the same problem at Kaplan. I contacted my student loan provider and found out that I was eligible to increase my loan amount.

My name is Don Cotton. I attend Kaplan College. Come to find out my Stafford Loan did not cover about $3,000 of my classes. I can not afford this with a loan. Can I add this amount to my loan. I really need this increase to pay pass account that was not covered. Can you give me information how to do this…

How much can an Independent sophmore, like myself, be awarded in totally unsubsidized stafford loans for the year?

Does the overall aggregate limit increase correspondingly?

i.e., does the total amount one can borrow stay at $138,000 or does it increase in the amount of the undergraduate increase?

It seams if there is no increase in the aggregate for undergraduates and graduates then grad school limits would actually decrease!
